Wedding bells rang this past weekend for me. With 4 kids for the summer my new bride and I could not take a real honeymoon at this point. So instead we opted for a mini-honeymoon in the Crescent City, New Orleans. The stay in New Orleans was fabulous (we will cover this in some other postings), but the to-and-from trip to New Orleans showed the highs and lows of air travel.

We traveled on US Air on a special rate that my miraculous travel agent, Pam, had been able to organize. The flight down was a little more flexible and...

Surrounded by Germany, France, and Belgium, this small country is such a pleasure to visit. I went to Luxembourg with my aunt, uncle, and two sisters. We stayed at a campground (Camping Kalkesdelt) that my aunt and uncle always stay at. Conveniently located in a little corner, we had one of the best spots on the lot. My aunt and uncle didn't "really camp"; they stayed in a camper, but my sisters and I had...

Holland

Europe
I'll start with some clarification: Holland is a term that can presently be used interchangeably with The Netherlands. Officially, the country is The Netherlands; Holland is simply a province, like Alberta, Canada, but it has come to be an acceptable term when referring to the entire country. The people of Holland are Dutch, and they speak Dutch as well. I'm Dutch, and I'm proud of it. I love when my family takes its semi-annual trip to the beloved country. My direct family is the only part of my extended family that lives in the U.S., so one of the reasons I...
