Coming Back to San Francisco

September 16th, 2008 by Jaclyn Abergas in North America, USA

Every time I go to the US, I pass by San Francisco in California. I fell in love with the city the first time I set foot in it. I love its small town feel and location in the city. I love the fact that most of the things I need are just a step away and the thousands of people in the city never makes me feel crowded. It’s not without the bad stuff.A But I believe the good outweighs the bad. I love that the city is full of different people. I don’t just get to talk to one nationality but I get to interact with a mix of people. It’s like getting the best of both worlds.

Whenever I come to San Francisco, there are some places are that I always go back to.

1. SF Museum of Modern Art

If you’re a big fan of modern art, then be sure to visit this place. They have 3-4 floors worth of great art collections and exhibits on everything about modern art. It’s a must-visit for all art enthusiasts.

2. Palace of Fine Arts

Not a lot of tourists come here, but it is a great place to visit. My favorite place to go here is definitely the Exploratorium. It’s so much fun! All those science exhibits makes me feel like a kid again. Even if you failed science in grade school or high school, you’ll definitely have fun here. If only science teachers used this method of teaching, then I surely would have passed with flying colors!

3. Monterey

Okay, technically, it’s not in San Francisco, but it’s near enough to San Francisco that it can be visited in a day. What is in Monterey? If you’re a nature lover and you love old, small towns that give off a quiet and serene atmosphere, then a trip to Monterey (and nearby Carmel-by-the-Sea) is highly recommended. The appeal is not in the things you can do but the things you will see. It’s a great place to collect your thoughts and relax. Be sure to bring a jacket as it gets pretty cold even at the middle of the day.

There are a lot of places to go to in San Francisco. It’s a small city but it offers big. I never run out of things to do in this city.

What’s your favorite place to visit in San Francisco?
