Luxembourg

Luxembourg is easily one of my favorite places to visit. I’ve only been there once, but I immediately fell in love with the little country.

Surrounded by Germany, France, and Belgium, this small country is such a pleasure to visit. I went to Luxembourg with my aunt, uncle, and two sisters. We stayed at a campground (Camping Kalkesdelt) that my aunt and uncle always stay at. Conveniently located in a little corner, we had one of the best spots on the lot. My aunt and uncle didn’t “really camp”; they stayed in a camper, but my sisters and I had our own little tent!

I loved Luxembourg because of all of its culture and the little things that there were to do. Everywhere we went we heard Dutch, French, Belgium, German, and of course Luxembourgish. It was so cool to hear all of the different languages. Practically everyone could speak more than one language– not including English.

While we were there, we went to this amazing park in the city of Luxembourg. We also toured some mines, visited a few castles such as Viaden and Casemates, went to a small local carnival, and so much more. One particular trip that I remember was the drive to the Moezel River. It was so beautiful with all of the vineyards, watermills, and quaint cities. But of course, what I loved the most was the fact that we always could come back to the campground and spend a relaxing time with our family. After our day trip we would play Bocce, walk into the beautiful nearby city, play Scrabble, play a different game, or just hang out.

There was no rush, no reasons to worry, nothing! It was purely one of the best times I have ever had on vacation!
