The new rich, the old rich, those who are rich by ill gotten gains and the famous all congregate in Monaco to show off to one another and to shelter their money from taxes. Welcome to Monaco where if it glitters it may be gold or again perhaps its diamonds. With all of this ostentatious wealth the nation would have to be secure. Secure it is. Security cameras are hidden everywhere. Police are present although they may not be visible. At the sign of trouble this tiny principality can be totally road blocked to prevent the bad guys from escaping.

The country is only 2.5 miles long and it meets the Mediterranean with the Maritime Alps as its other border. Because there isn’t any inheritance or income tax, foreigners choose Monaco and now are more than 80% of the occupants.

This land will remain secure. A new treaty signed in 2002 between France and Monaco states that if there are no heirs to carry on the dynasty, the Principality will remain an independent nation and not revert back to France. France retains the responsibility for defense of Monaco.

Beautiful scenery and a moderate climate make this the preferred destination of the rich and famous. In January and February the minimum temperature is 47 degrees Fahrenheit and the summer months of July and August the temperature goes to a maximum of 78 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes Monaco a wonderful place to find holidays deals. (Keep in mind that France is also a wonderful place to vacation. Try staying in gites in France. And don’t forget to use car hire France!)
