Warren, Ohio – Is that a Real Place?
During the 2008 election season, I saw national news stations go to this mystery city.A McCain and Obama both visited this hurting city to try and capture votes.A So, what is this city, and is it worth visiting?
Warren is my hometown and is not known for very many things.A Warren was a major player in the steel industry before it went under.A The once mighty steel belt is better known as “the rust belt.”
As far as tourism is concerned there is not much there to do.A However, there are four restaurants every Warren-ite fiends for.
The Hot Dog ShoppeA has very cheapA food that’sA very filling.A The chili and cheddar dogs are the best.A However, do not walk out of there without trying one of the milkshakes.A They are very thick and always on point!
Buena Vista is best known for their Greek fried chicken that has a slight taste of garlic.A There are very few places where you will find chicken that has a similar taste.
The next location is Sunrise Inn, and they have very good Italian food that is not extremely expensive but they are best known for their pizza that uses a parmesan cheese instead of the usual mozzarella.A I have never seen pizza like this anywhere in the world.
The last place is the Nest Egg Diner, whichA is better known as Jack′s Diner, Big Jack′s, or the Fork and Spoon.A The appearance of the diner is a little intimidating at first, but once you bite into the food you will forget about all of that and want more.A The best and only thingA I have gotten over the past 20 years is the Big Jack.A It is an omelet that has everything in it including tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, cheese and just about everything else.A If you add a little bit of hot sauce or ketchup, they are even better, however, bring your appetite because they are huge!A If you like, just get the little jack which is half the size.A They are open everyday for lunch and Thursday night until Sunday afternoon.

Great post! I always like to know the best places in these out of the way, not really heard of spots. And yummy, I love diner food, the dumpier the place, usually the better the food.
